Tankless Water Heaters
Rebates
and Credits
If you are considering switching from a standard hot water tank to a high
efficience tankless water heater, there is no better time than now.
Note: The Federal government has pulled out of the energy audit rebate program
leaving only the Provincial rebates available to homeowners. But we are petitioning with other concerned residents
to have this program reactivated since it encourages the survival of our natural resources and quality of life for
future generations.
Even with the reduced energy audit rebates there is still money to be saved in
going tankless.
The cost of water, gas, & electricity is going up drastically over the
next year. So you can expect to see much higher bills when it comes to heating your water in the very near
future.
With such enormous costs increase on the horizon, it pays to prepare today.
Going tankless is just one way you can lower costs so that those future increases don't destroy your financial well
being.
It doesn't make sense to buy a gas hot water tank when their effiencies are so
poor (most are rated 55 to 59% efficient and they loose efficiency each year they are in use). Even the
energy star hot water tank is only 62% efficient when new, which still means wasting fuel, wasting
money.
Here is a list of the current refunds and credits that are currently available to
you just for going tankless:
$315.00 Energy rebates from the Province *some
conditions apply for the Government energy rebate
8% Tax
increase effective July 1, 2010 will have ramifications that will effect even more than just the cost of a tankless
unit
8% increase on all utilities & services (water, gas, internet, phones, cable
TV, cell phones, etc...)
Ontario Hydro just got approved to increase its rates by 12% on top of
the 8% increase which means hydro is going to go up 20% in the next 12 months!
Currently the average home owner in Ontario saves approximately $200
per year on gas use for switching to tankless (this savings will matter even more with higher gas
prices)
Plus if you are currently renting your gas hot water tank you will save all
those ongoing rental fees (currently adds up to $200 to $280 per year but with the new
tax increase could be as high as $400 per year in a very short amount of time).
Keep in mind if you are considering going tankless odds are you wont be able to
afford it after July 1st with all the cost of living increases. Which means you will pay even more with your
inefficient hot water tank.
With all the benefits and cost savings it doesn't
make sense to not go tankless especially NOW!
In addition we believe so strongly in
being energy efficient and environmentally friendly that we are
offering an installment payment plan at no interest to help our city reduce polution
