Tankless Water Heaters

Rebates and Credits

REVISED July 20, 2011

The Federal Government has re-activated the eco-energy home energy audit rebate program effective June 2011. The downside, the Province of Ontario is not participating at this time which means you only qualify for the one rebate instead of the matching funds from both Province and Federal Government.

So what does tankless water heating systems qualify for:

First thing to note is that in order to qualify for the eco-energy rebate program you have to have a home energy audit performed (this will cost you $300 for that intial visit and $150 for the follow up visit after you have made the recommended changes as listed in your eco-energy audit).

If you switch from a gas hot water tank to a qualified tankless water heating system you could qualify for $315.00 in eco-energy rebates.

If you switch from a gas hot water tank to a qualified tankless water heating system you could qualify for $375.00 in eco-energy rebates.

Obviously neither of these rebates will recover the cost of having a home energy audit performed but if you are planning on upgrading more things in your home the added rebates could certainly make this program worth considering.

But there is GOOD NEWS for those considering going tankless...

If you are considering switching from a standard gas hot water tank to a high efficience tankless water heater, you may have missed your opportunity to get over $1,000 back from credits and government incentives but you are in the best position to get a tankless for even less!

Did you know that tankless prices have come down drastically in the last 12 months making them cheaper* than simply replacing your old power vent gas hot water tank (*based on 20 years of supplying hot water) and you SAVE money every year on energy use (lower gas bill) plus you save close to 2 pounds of carbon per day! And if you are currently renting your hot water tank, you will save close to 4 times the price of a tankless over the lifetime of a tankless water heater.

It doesn't make sense to buy a gas hot water tank when their effiencies are so poor (most are rated 55 to 59% efficient and they loose efficiency each year they are in use) and the new energy star hot water tanks arn't really any better at only 62% efficient!  Why stay with an inefficient gas hot water tank especially when you can go tankless (up to 98% efficiency) for less.

Even if you rent a tankless you will save money over staying with your current hot water tank!

Plus the average home saves approximately $200 per year on gas use

Plus if you rent you can save $200 to $280 per year on rental fees

We believe so strongly in being energy efficient and environmentally friendly that we are offering a three month installment payment plan at no interest to help our city reduce polution.

Financing is also available for those on a fixed income who simply can't afford to pay for a tankless upfront or the three month installment payment plan.

In other words we do everything we can to help you upgrade to a system that will save you money and save our environment over the next 20 years!

With all the benefits and cost savings it doesn't make sense to not go tankless
