With the end of the energy rebates & water conservation incentives many people ask “is it really worth it?” The truth is YES! Simply put the average home owner in Ottawa can no longer afford not to.

Water & sewer prices are increasing by 18%. What does this mean to you the homeowner in Ottawa? It means you will pay the highest prices ever for services you previously took for granted.

This document has been created to offer solutions to help minimize the financial damages of these price increases while at the same time reduce use of our natural resources. Green isn’t just a choice anymore – it is becoming an absolute necessity!

We begin with the essentials of life...

Where water is used in the home

"Within our households we flush up to 30 per cent of drinking water right down the toilet. In summer months, we use high-quality water to irrigate lawns, golf courses and other landscaping. Very little of the water treated to drinking water standards is actually used for purposes that require such high quality. According to Environment Canada, drinking and cooking consumes only about 5 per cent of indoor residential water use."

With so much water wasted and the price for water on the rise there has never been a more vital time to start conserving our water use.
